Call For Proposals

FY 2016 Call For Proposals

Supporting Community Health Resources: Building Capacity, Expanding Access, Promoting Health Equity, and Improving Population Health is the grants program of the CHRC. The program will award grants to community health resources serving Maryland residents. In this year’s Call for Proposals, the Commission will consider projects in four categories:

  • Promoting comprehensive women’s health services and reducing infant mortality rates; 
  • Expanding access to dental care; 
  • Integrating behavioral health service delivery and addressing the heroin and opioid epidemic; and 
  • Expanding access to primary and preventative care services and chronic disease management.​

Timeline for Submission:

  • December 15, 2015 - Letters of Intent and Financial Audit are due to the CHRC by 12:00 noon
  • January 11, 2016 - Full grant proposals are due to the CHRC by 12:00 noon
  • Mid to late February 2016 - Select number of applicants notified to present to the CHRC
  • Mid March 2016 - Applicant presentations to the CHRC; award decisions immediately follow presentations

FY 2015 Call For Proposals - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

The program will award grants to community health resources serving Maryland residents. In this year’s Call for Proposals, the Commission will consider projects in four categories:

(3) Supporting new access points and expanding primary care capacity; and
(4) Building safety net provider capacity.

Timeline for Submission:

  • November 18, 2014 - Letters of Intent and Financial Audit are due to the CHRC by 3:00pm
  • December 16, 2014 - Full grant proposals are due to the CHRC by 12:00pm
  • February 19, 2015 - Select Applicants present proposals to the Commission
  • April 2, 2015 - Commission makes final award decisions for 2015 Grantees

The program awarded grants to community health resources serving Maryland residents. In this year’s Call for Proposals, the Commission considered projects in six categories:

Released August 2011 - Aligning Community Health Resources: Improving Access to Care for Marylanders is the grants program of the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission. The program will awards grants to community health resources serving Maryland residents. In the 2011 Request for Proposals (RFP), the Commission considered projects in five categories which represent areas that the Commission has supported in previous RFPs:

  1. Increasing Access to Comprehensive Women’s Health Services and Reducing Infant Mortality
  2. Providing Dental Care for Low-Income Children
  3. Supporting New Access Points and Building Healthcare Infrastructure in Primary Care Settings
  4. Integrating Behavioral Health Services in the Community
  5. Facilitating Adoption of Health Information Technology

FY 2010 Request for Proposals - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

Released April 28, 2010 - Aligning Community Health Resources: Improving Access to Care for Marylanders seeks to award grants to community health resources in Maryland in the following four areas:

  1. Strategies to Reduce Infant Mortality, Pre-Term Births, Low-Birth Weight;Babies and Teenage Pregnancy through Pre-natal Initiatives
  2. Functionally Integrating Behavioral Health Services for Individuals with Mental Illness or Co-Occurring Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders
  3. Dental Services
  4. New Access

FY 2009 Request for Proposals - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

Released May 4, 2009 - Aligning Community Health Resources: Improving Access to Care for Marylanders is the grants program of the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission. The program awards grants to community health resources serving Marylanders in Maryland. In this offering, the Commission considered projects in one priority area. The Commission’s priority area for Fiscal Year 2010 was reducing infant mortality, pre-term births and low birth weight babies through pre-natal initiatives.

Released August 26, 2008 - Aligning Community Health Resources: Improving Access to Care for Marylanders is the grants program of the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission. The program awards grants to community health resources serving Marylanders in Maryland. In this offering, the Commission considered projects in six priority areas.

  1. Functionally Integrating Services for Individuals with Mental Illness or Co-occurring Mental illness and Substance Abuse Disorders, Particularly Children and Adolescents;
  2. School-Based Health Services;
  3. Primary Care Services;
  4. Dental Services;
  5. New Access Programs; and
  6. Opportunity Grants.

December 2007 - Call for Proposals for School Based Health Centers - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

October 2007 - Request for Proposals for Operational Grants - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission released a "Call for Proposals" for Operational Grants on Friday, October 19, 2007. The priority areas included:

  1. Services to individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse
  2. Diversion of non-urgent care from hospital Emergency Departments
  3. Services to immigrants with an emphasis on establishing a "medical home" for these individuals.

August 2007 - Request for Proposals for Information Technology Grants - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

July 2007 - Request for Proposals for Dental Grants - (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)

In this offering, the Commission encouraged projects that will improve access to dental services for low-income, uninsured individuals and Medicaid recipients in new and creative ways. The focus is on, but not limited to services for families and low-income children. The Commission awarded grants focused on creating new or expanding current sources of dental care to community health resources in Maryland.
