The Virus Isolation Laboratory performs culture testing for the following viruses: Herpes Simple Virus (HSV Types 1& 2). Enterovirus is currently performed by Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAAT). NIRV qPCR (Non-Influenza Respiratory Virus) testing is used to determine the presence of the following viruses: Adenovirus, Parainfluenza Virus (Types 1, 2, & 3), and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Viral culture for Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV), Measles, and Mumps will be confirmed by the CDC.​
