​Community/Public Health Dietetic Practice and Certified Nutrition Specialist Board Positions

The Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice has two members who are eligible for reappointment starting on July 1, 2026. Marla Caplon, Community/Public Health Dietetic Practice, is eligible for reappointment. In addition, Emily Cerda, Certified Nutrition Specialist, is eligible for reappointment.

The Board is required by law to notify all licensees of any vacancy to solicit at least three nominations to fill each vacancy. All Board of Dietetic Practice Members are appointed by the Governor and serve a four-year term, with eligibility for a second term. By law, the candidate must be a licensee who is a citizen of the United States, a resident of Maryland, and have practiced dietetics for at least 5 of the last 10 years.

The Board meets on the third Thursday of every odd month (January, March, May, July, September, November) at 10:00 a.m. The meetings are virtual until further notice. The meetings last approximately 2 hours. In addition, hearings/meetings to resolve and investigate complaints are on an as needed basis. Committee Meetings are on an as needed basis.
