Statute:  The Annotated Code of Maryland Health Occupational Article, Title 10, can be viewed at http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/Statutes.​   Select Health Occupations (gho) from the Articles dropdown.  Then begin with 10-101 from the Section dropdown and press the Search button.  Regulations:  The Code of Maryland Regulations, Title 10, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, can be viewed at www.dsd.state.md.us.   Click COMAR Online from the selection bar.  Select #3 under the search options.  Select Title 10.  Page down to select Subtitle 46, Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, and then select the chapter you wish to view.

Sunset Review

The Department of Legislative Services has completed its preliminary evaluation of the State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.  The result by the Department of Legislative Services recommending that the Board be waived from full evaluation and be extended for another 11 years.  Waived July 11, 2015.

Position Statements

The Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy intends to develop regulations specific to dry needling in the near future.  There will be an opportunity for public comment when the regulations are proposed.  Once regulations are adopted, licensed occupational therapy practitioners will be authorized to utilize dry needling.​
