BHA issues accreditation based licenses under COMAR 10.63 as outlined in COMAR 10.63.04. COMAR 10.63 licenses are issued for a specific date range, and must be renewed in accordance with COMAR 10.63.
Accreditation Organizations
The following organizations are the current MDH approved accreditation organizations:

The National Commission on Correctional Healthcare(correctional facilities only) https://www.ncchc.org/
The Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) has prepared crosswalks for each of the approved accrediting organizations. The crosswalks clearly identify the accreditation program standards that correspond to each of the program types and services listed in COMAR 10.63. Please note that not all accrediting organizations are approved to accredit all types of licensed programs. Crosswalks can be found below.
