Urgent and Acute Behavioral Health Care

The Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) works with and funds Local Authorities and providers to develop a statewide continuum of integrated, comprehensive, and equitable urgent and acute behavioral health care services.

BHA wants to ensure that everyone across the state has:

  1. Someone to contact when they need urgent behavioral health care services;

  2. Someone to respond to help them in that moment; and

  3. Somewhere safe to get help, stabilize, and get connected to ongoing support.

If you are experiencing an urgent behavioral health issue or a crisis and need support, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, chat online or learn more. 988 can connect you to immediate in-person mobile crisis help if appropriate.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 to reach Emergency Medical Services (EMS), fire, and police.
