Beginning July 1, 2027, sellers of prepaid wireless telecommunications services will be required to report and remit to Maryland’s Comptroller all Prepaid Wireless 9-8-8 Fees collected by the seller for retail transactions of prepaid wireless telecommunications. Additional details regarding remittance of these fees will be provided as we approach the implementation date.
