Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Talbot County Health Department will
NOT be issuing birth or death certificates to the public on a walk in basis. We will
be providing the option to mail in the applications to the Talbot County Health
Department at the address below for both birth and death certificates.
For birth certificates you MUST be born in the State of Maryland. You will need to
supply a copy of a valid photo ID. If your ID or driver’s license is expired, it will
ONLY be accepted from the months of March 2020 to the present. If it was
expired PRIOR to March 2020, you will need to provide two forms of proof such as
copies of your social security card, bank statement, utility bill and/or W2. A check
or money order for $22 made out to the Talbot County Health Department.
REMINDER: The check or money order must be filled out completely, correctly
and signed in the correct place or it will be returned to you. We are not able to
make changes/corrections to birth certificates, and if a change/correction is
