WIC: Women, Infants, and Children

WIC is a federally funded program that provides healthy foods and nutrition counseling to pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children under five.

  • Women in the program eat better and have healthier babies.
  • Babies born to WIC mothers weigh more and develop more successfully
  • Children participating in WIC eat nutritous foods high in iron and vitamin C. This helps build strong minds and bodies

  • Get information on healthy lifestyles for pregnant women
  • Breastfeed successfully
  • Help your children learn to eat healthy foods
  • Use your WIC checks to buy food at the grocery store
  • Obtain health and social services

If eligible you will receive nutrition information, referrals to other services, and checks to buy food

Approved foods include:

  • Milk
  • 100% Juice
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Drieds beans and peas
  • Cereal
  • Whole grain breads
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
