In Maryland, there are three ways to get involved in the influenza surveillance activities. Click the link to each program to learn more:


​Clinical Laboratory Influenza Monitoring Program
For who? 
Healthcare professionals in the following practice settings:  Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Student Health, Family Practice, OB/GYN, Urgent Care, Infectious Disease, Pediatrics

What is involved?
Reporters submit the number of patients seen with influenza-like-illness in five age categories and the total number of patients seen for any reason.

For who?
Any clinical laboratories in Maryland that perform influenza testing via Rapid Influenza Diagnostics tests (RIDTs) or polymerase chain reaction (PCR)

What is involved?
Reporters submit the total number of influenza tests performed, number of positives, and number of types A/B. 



For who?
Any Maryland residents

What is involved?
Individuals submit weekly symptoms via survey.
