The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) experienced a network security incident on December 4, 2021. Out of an abundance of caution, most MDH servers, including the KDP eCMS claims’ processing server, were taken offline. There is no evidence that any data was compromised.
The KDP systems, including the provider portal, are now back online. However, as a result of the claims’ system being unavailable for several months, the Program is experiencing a backlog of claims to process.
Patient certification applications continue to be processed as normal and the mailing of patient premium invoices continues on schedule.
