Headed to the Ravens Game Sunday?
Stay warm and dry, and come home safely — after the win!
All across Baltimore and the state, Ravens fans are gearing up for Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. For those lucky enough to have tickets to the big game in Foxborough, we’ve got some tips for preparing for the cold Massachusetts weather so you can celebrate the Ravens’ win safely.
Temperatures are expected to dip to the mid-30s by Sunday evening in Baltimore and in Foxborough. Remember to pack and wear these items at the game to stay warm and dry:
  • Hat
  • Scarf or knit mask to cover your face and mouth
  • Sleeves that are snug at the wrist
  • Mittens (they’re warmer than gloves)
  • Water-resistant coat and boots
  • Layers of loose-fitting clothing: wind-resistant for outside layers, and wool for inner layers
A few more tips:
  • Skip the beer. Alcoholic or caffeinated beverages will make you lose body heat faster
  • Watch out for frostbite. This loss of feeling and color, most often on exposed parts of the face and ears, or on fingers or toes, can permanently damage the body. Look out for these: White or grayish-yellow skin area, skin that feels unusually firm or waxy, numbness.  If you or someone in your group experiences these symptoms, protect exposed skin, get out of the cold, and seek medical care.
Driving up to Foxborough? When you’re packing your car with Ravens gear, save room for these emergency items:
  • Blankets
  • First aid kit
  • Windshield scraper
  • Bag of sand or cat litter (to pour on ice or snow for added traction)
  • Water and high-calorie canned or dried foods and a can opener
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • Bright cloth
Be safe, have fun and GO RAVENS!
