The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is pleased to announce that the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) approved amendments made to the Community Pathways, Community Supports, and Family Supports Waiver Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waiver applications in mid-November 2019. Amendment # 2 for all three waivers will go into effect on December 1, 2019.
The DDA Waivers Amendment # 2 includes:
- A transition strategy to Maryland's Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSSMaryland) fee-for-services billing starting with a small pilot group
- New procedure codes and associated rates for services associated with dedicated staffing (i.e. 1:1 and 2:1) in residential services
- Shared living levels
- Day habilitation (small and large groups)
- Enhanced personal supports for people with complex health and/or behavioral needs
- Updates to the self-directed service delivery model
