NOTICE OF CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS CHECK

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2015

FINGERPRINTING REQUIREMENTS
for the MD Board of Chiropractic Examiners

All initial applicants for Chiropractic [Chiropractors, Chiropractic Assistants] will have to have a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) which includes both State and FBI checks to be completed during the application processing and before receiving a license or registration. The CHRC packet with its directions is located in the Application Packet to which you are applying.

Please download the Background Check Directions located with the application for licensure or registration in order to complete this process. If you are a Foreign Applicant or Out of State Applicant; please following the directions for an ‘Out of State Resident’. Once the background check is completed, the Board will issue a license or registration in accordance with Board regulations, policies and procedures. As the background check will not preclude you from taking the MD Board of Chiropractic Examiners Jurisprudence Examination for Chiropractic; please be advised that once the exam is taken, the examination fee is non-refundable.

Please DO NOT call the Board’s offices for an update on a background check. The check is completed by a separate state agency. The Board has no control over the amount of time it takes to complete the check. If you have not received the results of the criminal history background check after thirty days, you can contact CJIS directly at 410- 764-4501.
