Use of Body Bags:
The Board announced at their January 14th open session meeting that mortuary transport services, under the law, are required to use body bags when making removals. This includes removals made by mortuary transport companies for funeral establishments. Although the Board believes it is best practice for funeral establishments to utilize body bags when making their own removals, it is not required by law.
The enforcement of the mortuary transport regulations is being extended until after November 15, 2014 to allow extra time for training and compliance.
