Behavioral Health Integration Stakeholder Workgroup
House Bill 1510 requires the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to convene a stakeholder workgroup to make recommendations on issues related to behavioral health, including statutory and regulatory changes to fully integrate mental health and substance use disorder treatment and recovery support; and promote health services. The workgroup must include representatives of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, providers, consumers, and advocacy organizations. On or before December 1, 2014, the Department is required to report the findings and recommendations of the workgroup to the Governor and, in accordance with § 2–1246 of the State Government Article, the General Assembly.
The Workgroup will hold its first meeting on June 13, 2014 (1:00-3:00pm) in the basement conference room of the Dix Building at Spring Grove Hospital Center.
At this introductory meeting, we will be discussing: the requirements of House Bill 1510; the topics to be covered and anticipated outcomes; the workgroup schedule and structure; and the process for stakeholder participation.
The Department would like to invite members of the public to attend the meetings. Individuals interested in receiving updates should contact the Department at email@example.com.
