Behavioral Health Administration Process

In December 2011, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene submitted a report to the Maryland General Assembly regarding the next steps in the behavioral health integration process. As part of this process, the Secretary indicated that a proposal would be developed by September 30, 2012 to merge the Mental Hygiene Administration and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration. In order to develop a plan to integrate these two administrations, the Department sought public comment in May and June.  The Department subsequently released a draft organizational chart for the new Behavioral Health Administration.  Based on these public comments, the Department has revised and finalized the organizational chart.
